Master Chocolatier Program in Belgium

Belgium - This is an opportunity to learn from the Belgian master chocolatiers. The one-week
(6 nights) experience combines a special program of hands on training at the original Barry Callebaut Chocolate Academy in Wieze, Belgium with visits to important chocolatier's boutiques in Brussels.

Note re Shared rooms - Ecole Chocolate will pair Students wishing to share a room in the order of receipt of their payment. You will be paying the single room registration fee but if we are able to pair you with an appropriate roommate, we will refund the difference between the shared and single option.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

Program students and traveling companions must be adults at 17 years of age or older. Also note that the program involves a lot of standing for long periods and walking (with bags at times) so good mobility and strength is important. Because we go into small towns, handicap access is at a minimum.

Our minimum requirement for this program to run is 6 students and the maximum is 10 students (traveling companions are not included in minimum or maximum number). You will want to wait to book and confirm your flight schedule to Belgium until we confirm that the minimum number of students have registered.

Master Chocolatier Program Certificate:

Students completing the program will receive an Ecole Chocolate Master Chocolatier Certificate of Achievement.

Cancellation Policy:

Our Ecole Chocolat Master Chocolatier Programs only accommodate a limited number of students and are usually full with a waiting list. As these programs involve a travel component - we need to contact those on the waiting list in enough time to for them to make travel arrangements. If you have to cancel, we will do everything in our power to find a replacement but can't guarantee that we will be successful. No refunds will be given after 45 days prior to the program start date. Make sure you are totally commited to the program before paying your registration fee. We also suggest that you take out travel insurance when booking your travel to and from the program country in case of an emergency.

Belgium Program Curriculum

With Barry Callebaut, there is a history of over 150 years in the world of cocoa and chocolate. With their first steps into the processing and production of high quality chocolates, they laid the foundations for their current expertise and research into new products and techniques.

Sunday:

Independent arrivals in Brussels, Belgium. Hotel accommodation and Monday Breakfast is included.

We leave at 8:00 AM for The Chocolate Academy in Weize. Welcome Dinner that evening after we settle into our hotel in Aalst.

Full day of classes with lunch at The Chocolate Academy. Free night for Dinner.

Full day of classes with lunch at The Chocolate Academy. Free night for Dinner.

Callebaut Academy

We complete our program at The Chocolate Academy including a tour the Barry Callebaut chocolate factory and a private laboratory visit with Barry Callebaut Ambassador and Master Chocolatier. Free night for Dinner.

Decorating Bonbons

Friday: B,L

We return to Brussels in the morning to check into our Brussels hotel, enjoy our Farewell lunch and a tour of the important chocolate boutiques. Free night for Dinner.

Saturday, B

Independent departures from tour hotel. Students are encouraged to stay one more night to include a day trip to Bruges.
